| My
father and I built the Zen Balanced Line Stage as a replacement to my
Sonic Frontiers SFL-1. It's a very worthy replacement that easily betters
the sfl-1 in my opinion. MOSFETs were not matched, nor were many exotic components used except for the DACT attenuator and selector switch. Nelsons directions were followed almost exclusively with no modifications. Balanced, the preamp has such a small amount of noise that I am unable to detect anything until putting my ear 3 inches away from the speakers. My only regret is that we did not include more balanced inputs. Otherwise, I'm very pleased! My thanks to Nelson for his charitable donations to the DIY community. Nathan Brandt |
