My name is Waldek Knapik from Kraków, Poland and I 'm an student of AGH –Academy of Mining and Metallurgy – sound engineering. My Aleph P 1.7 clone has four inputs 1xXLR, 3xRCA one output. For volume control I used 12 relays driven by a simple 6 bit counter. All relays, including the 5 in-/output relays are powered by a separate PS . The output is delayed by about 10 sec. when the amp is switch on. Input relays are driven by simple 4bit counter and they are switched by a one button. LCD are driven by uC and it show a volume level in dB. I steel creating a new version of program for uC. I designed all PCBs and it took me almost half a year to build this preamp. I almost forget about the best thing - the sound is great. I almost finish the D/A converter for this preamp. I am building it on AD1853.

Dimensions are: 45cm W x 28cm D x 8cm H.

Many thanks to Nelson Pass and his crew for sharing their enormous intellectual capital and all the commitment to us DIYer around the globe.
